In addition to experiencing discomfort, individuals who suffer from dyspareunia can have trouble finding or maintaining intimate relationships. Women who struggle through the pain are often unable to fully reach their sexual potential. They may experience pain, burning , or spotting. Today\u2019s gynecological professionals have pinpointed several sources of discomfort and devised effective methods of dyspareunia treatment. If the discomfort originated from painful penetration, then <em>vaginal loosening<\/em> may be right for you.<\/p>\n<p>One reason women experience pain during intercourse is because they have a naturally small vaginal opening. Vaginal Loosening is one of the most effective treatments for this condition. During the procedure, a cosmetic gynecologist will surgically enlarge the opening of the vagina using a precise laser. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The risks are minimal but may include bleeding and infection. Patients generally return to work within 48 hours and are able to have sex in approximately eight weeks. When a woman resumes having intercourse, the experience is pain free.<\/p>\n<p>Not all women are candidates for Vaginal Loosening. If the source of a woman\u2019s pain is not the vaginal opening, the procedure is not likely to help. A consultation with a doctor who specializes in cosmetic gynecology will help determine whether a woman is right for the procedure or whether another course of treatment would be more appropriate. Vaginoplasty, labiaplasty, clitoral hood reduction and perineoplasty are all procedures that may be performed instead of, or sometimes in addition to, vaginal enlargement to reduce pain during intercourse.<\/p>\n<p>Women who suffer from dypareunia should know that sex does not have to hurt. Enlarging the vaginal opening is only one of many proven procedures that can alleviate pain during intercourse and by extension greatly improve a woman\u2019s quality of life.
