While many women opt to undergo the procedure, it is normal to feel nervous or scared about it, especially if you aren\u2019t prepared for what the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">after<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> feels like. Sure, your doctor might tell you a bit about what to expect during the vaginoplasty, or even before, but you might feel a little left in the dark about the after part of the procedure. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is important to your recovery to understand exactly what the procedure entails, as well as how to care for yourself and what to expect things to be like after the procedure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is a Vaginoplasty?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A vaginoplasty, which is also known as vaginal rejuvenation, is a procedure that tightens the vaginal canal. Vaginoplasty is often combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as a labiaplasty or a monsplasty. It can, however, be done on its own with no other procedures. Vaginoplasty is often a great choice for women who are looking to regain their sexual satisfaction, as well as make the vaginal and perineum area look more youthful and tightened.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How is a Vaginoplasty Performed?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first thing that will happen in regards to a vaginoplasty is a consultation. During the consultation, the doctor will go over the procedure, and what will happen, and address any concerns. During the consultation, you will also tell the doctor what you are hoping for in terms of looks and feel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the day of your procedure, which is typically performed as an outpatient procedure, you will arrive at the center and receive the proper anesthesia. Once that is squared away, the doctor will be able to begin the procedure, which usually takes just sixty to ninety minutes from start to finish. However, if you are planning on combining the vaginoplasty with other procedures, such as a labiaplasty, the time from start to finish will be greater.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the vaginoplasty procedure, the doctor will use a laser to tighten the relaxed muscles in the vagina. These muscles will also be reinforced, which will allow for better pelvic floor control, as well as a narrower vaginal diameter. Due to the use of the laser to complete this procedure, bleeding is minimized.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the procedure is completed, you can expect to remain in the recovery area for observation, and if no complications arise, you will be given the green light to go home.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Does it Feel Like After The Vaginoplasty?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the vaginoplasty, you can expect to need some time off for recovery. Typically, patients spend around two weeks recovering before returning to work and regular routines, although when it comes to sexual or strenuous activity, up to six weeks of recovery time is generally recommended.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vaginoplasty is not generally painful, especially due in part to the fact that a laser is used to minimize bleeding and scarring. You can expect a bit of pain, some swelling, redness, and discomfort in the area, but nothing that should require anything more than over-the-counter pain medication to treat. Cold compresses can also help to reduce the swelling and pain of the area, helping you heal faster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the first few days of the procedure, you will find yourself able to more easily walk around and sit with less discomfort. After two weeks, you should be generally healed to the point where you can return to light exercise, as well as work and other general daily activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are There Risks to a Vaginoplasty?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As will all surgical procedures, there are indeed risks to consider. However, the possibilities of complications arising are very small. Some risks that you need to be on the lookout for include redness, bruising, and severe pain that do not subside, heavy bleeding, and signs of infection. These signs include nausea and vomiting, fever, intense pain, itching, and burning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A vaginoplasty is a relatively safe procedure with very little in terms of drawbacks. Many women between the ages of thirty and fifty who have finished having children opt for this procedure.
