Elite Recovery Protocol™

How the Elite Recovery Protocol™ aids your recovery

Elite Recovery Protocol™ is Dr. Ghozland’s physician-designed recovery system for intimate procedures, including labiaplasty, vaginoplasty, and other cosmetic gynecology treatments. The Elite recovery system is a physician-designed system built from thousands of cosmetic gynecology procedures, not simply a list of post-op instructions.

These are examples of what may be included in your recovery protocol:

  • A personalized pre-operative roadmap so you know exactly what to expect before, during, and after surgery.
  • Advanced regenerative therapies, when clinically appropriate, to support the body’s natural healing response.
  • Physician-curated recovery supplements designed to prepare your body before surgery and support healing, gut health, and recovery afterward.
  • Platelet-derived regenerative therapy (when appropriate)
  • Advanced peptide recovery cream (BPC-157 + GHK-Cu)
  • Carboxytherapy for select procedures
  • A specialized postoperative recovery kit with essential supplies to help make your recovery more comfortable.
  • Day-by-day recovery guidance with clear expectations for healing milestones, activity, hygiene, swelling, and comfort.
  • Medication reminders and recovery education to help patients stay on track throughout the healing process.
  • Ongoing monitoring and follow-up from Dr. Ghozland’s specialized recovery team.
  • Clear instructions on common postoperative symptoms, what is considered normal healing, and when to contact our office.

Dr. Ghozland has performed more than 7,000 cosmetic gynecological procedures across more than 2 decades.

Patients often report similar questions that tend to appear after intimate surgery: pain, swelling, bruising, hygiene, activity limits, intimacy, and whether the healing area looks normal.

The Elite Recovery Protocol™ takes those questions and addresses them in a tailored recovery plan.

Wondering what the first week after surgery may look like?

The first few days can bring normal changes such as swelling, bruising, tenderness, changes with sitting, walking may feel slower, bathroom habits, showering, and questions about how the area should look as it heals and wondering if the healing is normal.

That is why Dr. David Ghozland created the Elite Recovery Protocol™.

Instead of sending patients home to figure it out alone, this physician-designed protocol provides a clear recovery roadmap, practical education, guided check-ins, medication support, and communication with our specialized care team.
At Intimate Health Center, recovery is not an afterthought. It is part of the surgical plan.

Here’s something patients typically underestimate

Patients often prepare for the procedure itself: They think about the result they want. They ask about anesthesia, timing, technique, cost, and when they can return to work. Those questions come up before surgery because they feel easier to name.

Recovery though is harder to picture and prepare for – especially if it’s your first procedure.

The first week is full of small moments that suddenly carry more weight: getting into the car, lowering yourself into a chair, using the bathroom, changing clothes, showering, looking with a mirror, wondering whether swelling changed too much overnight.

That state of feeling unprepared is the part Elite Recovery Protocol™ was built around.

A patient should know what to expect before she is tired, sore, and trying to decide whether a symptom belongs to normal healing or needs a call to the office.

The first week has checkpoints we help you understand

Recovery after intimate surgery is practical before it is emotional.

Can you sit comfortably enough to ride home?
Can you walk around the house without overdoing it?
Can you use the bathroom without panic?
Can you tell the difference between expected swelling and something the office should review?

The recovery protocol gives patients reference points for those moments with instructions on.

  • how swelling may look during early healing
  • how bruising may change
  • what level of discomfort may be expected
  • how to care for the surgical area
  • which activities should wait
  • when walking, exercise, work, and intimacy may resume
  • when to contact the care team

The goal is practical: fewer unknowns during the part of recovery patients usually handle at home.

Regenerative recovery care may be part of the plan

Dr. Ghozland’s published enhanced recovery protocol for labiaplasty included biologic and regenerative components such as peptide therapy, PRP, carboxytherapy, and estradiol cream.

Those therapies were used together as part of a multimodal recovery approach. The treatment plan may differ from patient to patient based on the procedure, anatomy, health history, and medical review.

During consultation, Dr. Ghozland will explain which recovery tools apply to your case and which do not.

Curated supplementation is handled before and after surgery

Some patients receive a curated supplement program as part of Elite Recovery Protocol™.

The supplement plan may assist with recovery needs related to tissue repair, digestive comfort, gut health, and nutrition during the healing window. The office will explain what to take, when to take it, and whether any supplement should be avoided because of your medical history, medications, or procedure plan.

This part should never be guessed at from a general wellness list. It belongs in the surgical instructions.

What Dr. Ghozland studied in labiaplasty recovery

Dr. Ghozland published a small retrospective observational study on an enhanced recovery protocol for labiaplasty.
The study compared 10 enhanced-protocol patients with 10 historical controls.
In that study, the enhanced recovery group showed:

Recovery measure Study finding
Swelling 20% reduction
Day-3 pain scores 30% lower
Bruising Resolved about 2 days earlier
Return to baseline activity 11 days instead of 14 days
Patient-rated recovery 90% rated “excellent”
Adverse events None reported in the enhanced protocol group

The study was small, retrospective, and non-randomized. Patient satisfaction was also subjective.

Those findings give clinical context for Dr. Ghozland’s recovery approach. They should be read as supportive data from a limited patient group, rather than a promise about how one patient will heal.

Pain, swelling, and bruising need context

Discomfort is expected after intimate surgery. So are swelling and bruising. The stressful part is usually the pattern. One side may look more swollen. Bruising may darken before it fades. Tenderness may become more noticeable after walking, showering, or moving around the house.

A patient can know these changes are common and still feel uneasy when she sees them. Elite Recovery Protocol™ gives patients more context for those changes. The care team explains what may fit the expected recovery pattern, what should be watched, and what should be reported.

In Dr. Ghozland’s published labiaplasty recovery study, patients in the enhanced recovery group reported lower day-3 pain scores, less swelling, and faster bruising resolution than historical controls. Because the study was small, those results cannot predict an individual recovery timeline.

The care team stays involved after you go home

Many recovery questions do not appear until the patient is back in her own bathroom, bedroom, or shower. That is why the web-based system of the Elite Recovery Protocol™ has a daily check–in.

Patients receive guided check-ins and instructions for reaching the office when a symptom feels outside the guidance they were given. That contact can help with private questions around pain, swelling, bleeding, bruising, hygiene, medication reactions, activity, and healing appearance.

The patient should know who to contact before worry starts.

Which procedures may include the Elite Recovery Protocol™?

Elite Recovery Protocol™ may be used after labiaplasty, vaginoplasty, and other cosmetic gynecology procedures where structured recovery planning is appropriate.

Dr. Ghozland will explain whether the protocol applies to your treatment plan. The exact recovery plan depends on the procedure, your anatomy, your medical history, and the healing support he recommends.

Wall of Love

Talk through recovery before you choose surgery

If you are considering labiaplasty, vaginoplasty, or another intimate procedure, use the consultation to ask what recovery may look like in practical terms.

Ask about the first night. Ask about the first week. Ask how swelling and bruising are handled. Ask what happens if you are unsure about something after you go home.

Dr. Ghozland can explain whether Elite Recovery Protocol™ applies to your procedure and what type of recovery support may be included in your treatment plan.
